LUXACT Neo 1D for railway R&D
Short set-up times and an easy handling are critical for R&D and Testing of railway vehicles. LUXACT Neo 1D measures contactless & slipfree speed in longitudinal axle of a rail vehicle body.
LUXACT can be mounted at any point under the railcar body - this fascilates and accelerates the set-up time dramatically. No need of time-consuming alignment to the rail surface or fitting into vehicles construction - just fix LUXACT for example to the standard top hat rail. Ready.
LUXACT is an integrated sensing system - this means that all signal processing and sensing are done in one physical housing. A flexible and EMI resistant CAN Bus, RS485 or Pulse interface delivers all measured parameters directly into user's data acquisition system. No additional parameterizing is needed.
A last but not least added value of LUXACT is a wide height to surface range till 1200mm (48in) and exceptional independence of measured speed from actual height.
LUXACT uses sensors synergy i.e. an optical and an inertial system for sensing and performs the measurements in respect to ballast bed. The novel approach, combined with proprietary algorithms provide unparalleled signal stability even on wet, snowy and iced surfaces, which are critical for the most contactless SoG sensors on the market.
LUXACT proprietary optical technology is already quite insensitive to surface properties changes (e.g. reflectivity, mirco- & macrostructure, material etc.), however sensors synergy makes elimination of obvious optical disturbances like flying stones, water spray or snow drifting possible. Summarizing, weather, surface and enviromental conditions do not affect the absolute accuracy and the signal stability.
