LUXACT Neo 1D for ETCS Odometry

LUXACT complies with the challenging requirements for railroad systems (ETCS/ERTMS) in aspects of high reliability of speed & distance signals acquired by train’s onboard system. A supplementary integrated 6 DOF inertial measurement unit and high-sensitivity GPS receiver raise dramatically the reliability of measurements under demanding weather conditions in order to provide operation within sensor’s specification with 24/7/365 (year-round) availability. The system is highly integrated in a single, rugged IP67 protected sensor body.

Weather - Tunnel - City proof - 100% Signal availability

LUXACT™ smart sensor fusion algorithm selects automatically the best available signal between optical or GPS and can process wheel odometer data as a fallback level. All signals are corrected by integrated 6 DOF Inertial Measurement Unit. This approach results in 100% availability of speed and distance data.

High accuracy at any speed

Whether "snail"-slow (down to 0.2 km/h) or high speed (up to 500 km/h), LUXACT provides speed and distance data with real-life achievable accuracy. An error through complete speed range does not exceed 0,1%. 

Reliable on any surface material. Non-sensitive to surface conditions.

LUXACT proprietary optical technology is generally not sensitive to surface properties and their changes (e.g. reflectivity, micro- & macrostructure, material etc.) - this means neither the absolute accuracy nor the stability are affected. LUXACT sensors are perfectly working on ballast bed, wood, concrete, steel, cobble stones and under any condition like water, snow, ice, mud, dust or dirt. 

Independent from height fluctuations 

Important benefit of LUXACT is a wide range of mounting height spreading from 300 up to 1200 mm and exceptional independence of measured speed from actual height to ground. Moreover, height fluctuations during the Rolling Stock movement (e.g. gaps, ramps, sleepers, bolts, etc.) do not influence the actual speed and distance measurement. Due to this property LUXACT may be mounted nearly at any place of car body.

EMC proof

Integral housing of LUXACT sensor with fully integrated electronics provides excellent EMC protection. Specially designed power supply module is successfully tested according to requirements for railway electronics.
